The Chibi Kingdom Death project continues.

The Sunstalker campaign features the People of the Sun- an alternate group you could start out with that have some nods to Japanese clothing styles and weaponry. They’re quite distinct from the usual Kingdom Death survivors.

These people live in the shadow of an ancient Sunstalker and raise its young in a pool of colorful liquid. I really love the campaign, and I thought that they would make an interesting subject for some crossover minis.

Most of these miniatures started life as a Tanchyo Warband for Super Dungeon Explore. The number of alterations I made to them varies quite a lot- some of them seemed like they would be perfect without any changes, while others needed quite a lot of sculpting and conversion.

The Sunstalker Miko and her iconic triple arrow action
The Sunstalker Chunin is the only one of the minis to receive no modifications (except the face base)
I found the large masks from Kingdom Death were well suited for Chibi minis to wear
The mask on this ninja matches the one on Kingdom Death’s Black Friday Ninja
I felt like this character needed to stand out a little more as an individual, so I gave him a complete green stuff head
The Tanchyo Kunoichi didn’t need very many changes for her to resemble a Warrior of the Sun. Her pose and whipping fabrid worked well for her, I only needed to sculpt some sleeves and the head ornament
The Sunstalker Priest is a mix of disparate parts and my own sculpting. For Super Dungeon, he plays as the clan’s Madoishi
To play in Super Dungeon, the clan needed an Oni on a 50mm base. I considered some easier options, but I eventually felt that the coolest option was for me to sculpt a baby Sunstalker from scratch.
The pool of colors is very important to the People of the Sun, so I incorporated it into the bases. As you can see, the Sunstalker is splashing around quite a bit
